The Botanical Building

The Botanical Building in Balboa Park was built in 1915 for the Panama-California Exposition. It is open from 10am – 4pm daily, closed on Thursdays and holidays. As an additional bonus, besides being surrounded by beauty, it won’t cost you a dime. Entrance into the Botanical Building is always free.

Japanese Friendship Garden

If you are looking for a delightful, serene location to spend a few hours while visiting San Diego head over to the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. The 7 acre garden is filled with meandering walking paths, ponds, waterfalls, and beautiful landscaping. There are many benches spread throughout the garden offering places to rest and enjoy the relaxing environment.

Visiting Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
