Black Birch Canyon and Ponderosa Point in Bryce Canyon National Park

After driving to the end of Park Road (UT-63) to see Rainbow Point, we headed back north, through the entire park, stopping at 9 separate scenic overlooks.

Our first stop was Black Birch Canyon at 8,750 feet.

Our next stop was Ponderosa Point, which is only a few minutes away by car.

Ponderosa Point is at an elevation of 8,904 feet. I am facing southeast here.

I am not sure if the area below is completely natural or if some of the trees were cleared away from the rock formations. I wish I could have gotten down there to see it up close.

One tip I’d like to offer is, take pictures of each of the signs that tell you what lookout you are at before you start taking other pictures. It’s very helpful when you are looking back and trying to distinguish each of the viewpoints from one another. The time stamps on your photos will help as well, but it’s much quicker to simply take a picture of each sign.

Our next stops included Agua Canyon, Natural Bridge, Fairview Point, Bryce Point, Inspiration Point (all three levels) and Fairyland Canyon. I will break those up into a couple of posts. As always, wishing you happy travels and fantastic adventures in this thing called life.
