Staying at The Bellagio in Las Vegas

Although I am not a huge fan of Las Vegas, I am a big fan of The Bellagio.

One of the first things I do when I get to a hotel room is check the view. We usually will pay for a view if the price isn’t obscene. We did not upgrade our room here, so I was absolutely thrilled when I looked out our window and saw we had a perfect view of the fountains.

If you’ve been following my posts about our cross-country road trip, you’ll know that we were bringing our son from Wisconsin to his new job in California. He originally did not want a stop in Vegas, but I promised him, this was a hotel he would not want to miss out on.

After dinner, a few drinks, watching me have absurdly good luck with the gambling machines that I could not figure out how to operate, and needed him to read me the directions, and tell me what to do, and watching the fountain shows out our window over and over, he admitted, “It wasn’t horrible.”

There is a station on the tv in the hotel room that plays the music that the fountains are synchronized to. We didn’t figure that out until the morning. 

Which was actually fine, because I was watching the fountains long after those two had fallen asleep.

We did eat dinner and breakfast in the hotel. The food and drinks were delicious. Some of the restaurants do have dress codes, others are more casual.

There are 19 restaurants in the hotel, so there are plenty of dining options. 

There are also many bars/lounges, shops and boutiques, pools, a spa and fitness center.

The hotel also has a beautiful conservatory, displays of Chihuly’s blown glass artwork, and the theatre for Cirque de Soliel’s show “O”, which my husband and I had seen on a previous trip and was phenomenal.

Things to Know Before You Go:

1. The Bellagio fountain shows go off every 30 minutes, from 3-7:30 pm, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to midnight, Mondays through Fridays.
2. On weekends the fountain shows begin at noon and go off every 30 minutes from 12 – 7:30 pm, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to Midnight.
3. Each fountain show is set to different music and has different water choreography. At night, the lights add even more to the shows.
4. The hotel is located on the main strip, so if seeing the strip is important to you, it is an excellent location.

I don’t see us returning to Las Vegas in the future, but if we did, I would definitely want to stay in the Bellagio again and make sure to have a view of the fountains. The next morning had us heading off to Death Valley National Park. As always, wishing you happy travels and fantastic adventures in this thing called life.
