Temple Hill, also called the Fortress, was used primarily as a religious site. It consists of farming terraces, crop storage buildings and the Temple of the Sun (which was never completed).

Our final expedition on our trip in the Amazon Rainforest was hiking to a mammal clay lick deep in the jungle.

On this trip we hiked 45 minutes into the jungle. Again, I was pretty sure that we were walking along the same paths as the jaguar from the web-cams we watched at the lodge

Night Hike in the Amazon Rainforest

On our first night at the lodge we decided to go on the night hike excursion (I didn’t really want to go, but I was outnumbered). I left my camera behind because I needed to constantly be sweeping the ground in front of me with my flashlight and ready to flee at a moment’s notice.
